Howard Sunkin

Howard has more than three decades of experience counseling and advising around complex regulatory issues, policy developments and land use approvals. His success has spanned the local, state, and federal levels, and has covered a variety of industries including real estate, transportation, education, telecommunications, energy and sports.

Sunkin was named Senior Vice President of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2004 and spent eight years overseeing all government relations, communications, philanthropy, and community affairs activities for the organization. During this same period and until recently, Sunkin served as a director of the Los Angeles Marathon, where he played an instrumental role in securing approvals for the creation of the iconic “Stadium to the Sea” course that spanned across four cities (Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica). The Los Angeles Marathon is now the 4th largest marathon in the United States.

Prior to joining the Dodgers’ organization, Sunkin was a senior leader at Cerrell Associates, Inc., where he was involved in some of the region’s most high-profile projects.

Sunkin is a former board member of Think Cure!, which raises funds for research to find a cure for cancer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and City of Hope. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Southwestern University School of Law and served 10 years as president of the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club.

He earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California, receiving honors from the University’s prestigious Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics and Government.
